progress report:yesterday was judgement day. after 2 days of reaction plus one more day of work up and purification, i went to test my compound. he was anxious to know about the structure too.. keep asking me whether i've confirmed the structure alr. and so i went to do my nmr test. when i opened my file, was very gan jiong. tada! it's different from literature and my heart sank! dunno how to report. who knows when i reach the lab din even have time to prepare my speech.. he was there. so we went into his office. he sat down and started to stare at my spectrum.. 10 seconds.. 20 seconds.. 30 seconds... 1 minute.. in silence. it's really very kong bu. finally he said "what's this?" den he stared harder.. "interesting huh".. and finally he said it might be correct still even though it's very different from literature. in my heart i was like.. "huhhhh. where got possible! you must be kidding!" but if he say so den fine loh. wahaha. research is not good for the weak-hearted. 做实验要有信心. that's what he said. tmr's gonna be a longgggg day. fri will be another longggggggggg day too. woots.
